On the morning of September 27, the 2025 National Workers Half‑Marathon (Yinchuan stop) kicked off on West Street of People’s Square in Yinchuan. More than 20,000 workers from across the country took part, turning the city streets into a moving, colorful scene.

This was the first time the race was held in Yinchuan, and it is the nation’s first workers’ road‑run event certified as an “A1” race by the Chinese Athletics Association—an event of notable size and influence.

The competition featured three categories:

1. Half‑marathon
2. Special “lead‑run” formation – four themed groups representing model workers and craftsmen, the century‑old labor movement, industrial achievements, and new forms of employment. Participants traded their work uniforms for race shirts, showing the vigor and teamwork of today’s workers with every step.
3. Health run

The top three men were Zhang Guofu, Wang Tao, and Yelaman Seilamu Han. The top three women were Wang Kaili, Wang Qiaoxia, and Ren Xiuchi.

During the race a “Sports + Tourism” program was offered, with travel discounts so participants could enjoy a “run in Yinchuan, eat in Yinchuan, play in Yinchuan” all‑in‑one experience.
